Not expecting to buy a whole lot......BUT when I got too looking around ALOT was spotted by my eye........First was a whole table of old antique books which I love,and is a must have for decorating! So after gathering up the ones I wanted, my eye then looked up at this low back vanity bench another must have! I could already see it done in my head.........<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitb1Zdo22Wbfox5LsK-3YWuLqsa9KokWoBiDTorD3227zpiHIKbH6Q7DqB8SJIj4CgeMwnlecWPwR_f9cgAbPqANr_yBm2Oh0-othHeBsCYJEiDEj3pALk3MzJLZM1sIdPWEmCDytEE4I/s1600/DSCF0859.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300px" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitb1Zdo22Wbfox5LsK-3YWuLqsa9KokWoBiDTorD3227zpiHIKbH6Q7DqB8SJIj4CgeMwnlecWPwR_f9cgAbPqANr_yBm2Oh0-othHeBsCYJEiDEj3pALk3MzJLZM1sIdPWEmCDytEE4I/s400/DSCF0859.jpg" t$="true" width="400px" /></a></div> In my head I was thinking Annie Sloan Old White with heavy distressing. A coat of clear wax,with a tad' of dark.....Then re-covered in a antique grain sack.....GREAT!<br />

What did I get myself into-With my new side job I have been VERY...VERY...VERY busy! Which is GREAT but I have forgot about my blog. A couple of weeks ago I got a call from a friend wanting me to come by there house to look at a piece of furniture in there basement. So down in there basement I went to find a diamond in the rough. Just giving it a quick look over,I said sure it could be done. But little did I know,when I went to pick it up the next week boy was it in BAD shape! But I had to take the project on..... Here is where we started.<br />
<div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihdbBCfQ25VMCSKHxUa37zLQdfyAH3DGS6J-mX6ta0XUc4URuwcQZE7E9fU5Xj4rBQUdPFHxMZhk2lKp6BB2iZMyKjpjavw2eJyA0-ETzVw2lD12DYxT4WKTwX8d9_lPcfE4N37IdcEcY/s1600/DSCF0857.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400px" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihdbBCfQ25VMCSKHxUa37zLQdfyAH3DGS6J-mX6ta0XUc4URuwcQZE7E9fU5Xj4rBQUdPFHxMZhk2lKp6BB2iZMyKjpjavw2eJyA0-ETzVw2lD12DYxT4WKTwX8d9_lPcfE4N37IdcEcY/s400/DSCF0857.jpg" t$="true" width="300px" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;">See what i mean by potential??? But boy was it in bad shape. A door in pieces, wobbly doors, a back board that wouldn't fit back in place,and I could go on...on...and on...... But it had to be done. I knew what my client had in mind, she was adding on a screened porch and had the perfect wall for this piece. Old worn out red is what it was going to be. So after all the repairs took place,the painting process started. Milk Paint in "Barn Red" was my choice. And may I add it's a great red...... Here is a close up-pic of the finished product.</div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I have to say I was very proud of the outcome of this piece! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

Ugghh I said to myself, even though we where planning on going but not until 6:45 and that's a few more minutes sleep and that's allot for me! But I got myself up and got dressed for a morning of driving around to "look for treasures." But boy was I glad I went, at the first sale I found an antique unusual mirror that I love, and sorry no pic's will post latter I have plans for it you all are going to drool over! Janet found a large shiny silver........... wait, wait, wait for it MIXING BOWL ha ha!!! And of coarse I made fun of her, I guess it was a nice bowl for the price ha. Rhonda had no finds here. And we where off to our next stop which was a great disappointment, no finds here.....Off again we went, my next GREAT find was not planed-up the road we where going when out of the corner of Rhonda's eye she spotted something and SLAMMMMM the brakes went, out of the car we jumped and we found this diamond in the rough-BAD shape it was in-in it's current state,but just wait for it's "after"<br />

</tbody></table>It needed lots of work but, I already saw it done in my head-so we loaded it up! Oh First i paid for it of coarse...off we went on our next journey and a long one I may add, and with only a few finds with none in my hands-On our last stop before heading back home Janet and Rhonda found some bargains and I watched my chairs that would have been GREAT with a lil' help-go down the road without me-too a home that will not give them a new look!!! Don't we hate to see that happen-Janet found a nice box of antique books for a whopping .10 cents each, a bag of dainty handkerchief's $1 WOW, and a very nice tablecloth for yet again $1.-Rhonda found a popover pan for a $1 and a blender for a $1- we then ended our fun filled day which was "priceless". {Now here is what I had painted in my head for the desk-}<br />

After thinking about it all day and night I went back the next and AHHH it was still there!!! It was not the best looking thing,but I could already see it done in my head...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEic_GheAiUwUHqptGECIs5XSqdiHJnatFrwN-MES-4GDy4NuTnYDM86dWLo5rpfOJStytOQ7yCPUGTpF6Odr3WiE8ZDmphyuz_J31aIAhtA_4IDSV8AfkxsPnkWhs0nmhTAZ0u9bCfXCGo/s1600/DSCF0736.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240px" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEic_GheAiUwUHqptGECIs5XSqdiHJnatFrwN-MES-4GDy4NuTnYDM86dWLo5rpfOJStytOQ7yCPUGTpF6Odr3WiE8ZDmphyuz_J31aIAhtA_4IDSV8AfkxsPnkWhs0nmhTAZ0u9bCfXCGo/s320/DSCF0736.jpg" t8="true" width="320px" /></a></div>First thing I knew had to go was the UGLY brown plastic leather, and I knew just what I wanted.... Burlap coffee sack, I had some extra form a project a while back and knew it would be perfect.....<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUCxuJiagtMKrOE5chm3Az9Yc4dutLlXd5xc9vw4yLOGYnyCIo3l-VlDlTXYmyuXlmaW6JBvQuHhNMK1t4MRwlsgw6FQwnJI7Q1WbouRrTD4OnbFv2U9xJ2We5WRbPXiAwnYfEkWQ4WBQ/s1600/DSCF0738.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240px" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUCxuJiagtMKrOE5chm3Az9Yc4dutLlXd5xc9vw4yLOGYnyCIo3l-VlDlTXYmyuXlmaW6JBvQuHhNMK1t4MRwlsgw6FQwnJI7Q1WbouRrTD4OnbFv2U9xJ2We5WRbPXiAwnYfEkWQ4WBQ/s320/DSCF0738.jpg" t8="true" width="320px" /></a></div>Next was the color, I chose a blue/gray color which I thought ended up looking GREAT with the burlap....<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigLHkjYqw9KtK7QvZL9L5ykvBmZC_5D1hFG3XNFafqz-AVy5cgCPnAygmx_FjOYmDXOHuKZB60ZorGecFhMOssAl4tLx-AkAZqanHa5rcU9bXeovtYhp0HVC08DQM5LW5A6pNFopeo3E4/s1600/DSCF0739.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240px" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigLHkjYqw9KtK7QvZL9L5ykvBmZC_5D1hFG3XNFafqz-AVy5cgCPnAygmx_FjOYmDXOHuKZB60ZorGecFhMOssAl4tLx-AkAZqanHa5rcU9bXeovtYhp0HVC08DQM5LW5A6pNFopeo3E4/s320/DSCF0739.jpg" t8="true" width="320px" /></a></div>Next came the distressing, and this time i chose to wax the piece instead of glazing and it ended up great!!! Then it came time to take pictures and post to sale,which I thought my mind was made that I would sale the bench, but I grew attached and even found the perfect place for it... But I said to myself you can't keep every piece that is done. :( :( :( So here it is and I hope to sell it soon!!! <br />

Here is what took place in three easy steps:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgs6dNJ8JDcXWMeqZtcONp_usKsNS-4glzoZ4jU4vsXvo5uxsicOV9wuDJIKyC3-9_OLI_uI8eIAylGT6gjE9K9R3aGF917u0D-JX3A8HzRFdr_pK-v5po71kTkjzB44FO4wmZUmA1UOQ8/s1600/DSCF0526.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320px" j8="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgs6dNJ8JDcXWMeqZtcONp_usKsNS-4glzoZ4jU4vsXvo5uxsicOV9wuDJIKyC3-9_OLI_uI8eIAylGT6gjE9K9R3aGF917u0D-JX3A8HzRFdr_pK-v5po71kTkjzB44FO4wmZUmA1UOQ8/s320/DSCF0526.jpg" width="240px" /></a></div>Since this small black chest came already painted black when I purchased, the first step i used a palm sander and hit all the edges and any place where natural wear would take place.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7s8Ovc8EigV3jmi7D6oqUvYvQuzAhDJnILyJyPcGUt1oEX6vyG5Q75UA1lNO-WSiPBcmhJoD4N51d7Des64e8lD0kko8j4dAj1pz8cl19mMWOdXNEUj1s1E9x0GYVtxDftU9OCsqISBw/s1600/DSCF0533.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240px" j8="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7s8Ovc8EigV3jmi7D6oqUvYvQuzAhDJnILyJyPcGUt1oEX6vyG5Q75UA1lNO-WSiPBcmhJoD4N51d7Des64e8lD0kko8j4dAj1pz8cl19mMWOdXNEUj1s1E9x0GYVtxDftU9OCsqISBw/s320/DSCF0533.jpg" width="320px" /></a></div>After I got the desired distressing i wanted, I cleaned the chest down with Spray Nine if you have never used this product it is a must have for any cleaning job, it can be found at your local hardware store for around $5 bucks.<br />

At the shop we just recently started carrying Mariana Jewelry and have been looking for the perfect lighted case to house it, the shops owner had this old chunky china cabinet that went with a dining room set she used long ago, and was just storing it in a rental house so she said she would bring it in if I was up for the challenge. Guess what I said "Bring it on!!!" . Not knowing the detail work I was getting myself into, with two long days of work this this ordinary "chunky china cabinet" turned into something extraordinary.<br />
